Another New Traxxas Release: E-Revo

Since the release of the Traxxas Revo in 2004, it has dominated at the track because of it's unique F1 style suspension and new chassis design. The Revo also saw a change in 2006, the 3.3 racing engine debuted so Traxxas incorperated it into the new Revo 3.3. The Revo now sees another change- electric!

The new E-Revo not only has a new top and electric motors, it also features a new chassis design that puts all the wait lower to the ground, and close to the center of the chassis for better handling and stability. Traxxas has said this is the best handling monser truck they've ever made. Also a great feature to the E-Revo are built in, enclosed battery compartents with air scoops to keep your batteries cool. This truck is completely brushless ready as most of the new cars Traxxas is releasing. The truck is powered by two 550 Titan motors, just like the new E-Maxx. To give it a racier look, Traxxas even includes a black wing. The transmission was designed to keep the weight in the center and lower to the chassis. Other features are listed below.

  • Water sealed electronics.
  • Quick release battery doors.
  • EVX-2 speed control.
  • Standard Talon tires.

It seems as though the new E-Revo uses the hard coated GTR shocks with ti-nitride shock shafts. It also appears that it uses hi torque water proof servos found on the new E-Maxx.

This truck has been released by popular demand obviously. If it wasn't for the people who wanted an E-Revo, Traxxas wouldn't have made one. This has been talked about by Revo fans since the original Revo, and many prayers have been answered. Traxxas took the E-Revo to RCX which kicked off this weekend and they said the E-Revo will be around the same price as a Revo 3.3. No word on release date.

I want a real car like that

What a great looking vehicle. I want one - that I can drive! Its been years since I had an RC car - huge improvements over that time. Does that wing really hold it down? - it doesn't look big enough.

Things sure have improved...

The wings on monster trucks dont have a noticeable difference, but Im sure it does give some rear traction. I use this wing on my race Revo and it is of fair size.

PRICEYY!!

i called traxxas and they told me that this is going to run about $525 street price.. screw that! might as well go nitro...

Hefty price tag,plus another

Hefty price tag, plus another 3-400 for a good brushless conversion,i still want one!!! Why dont they all just come brushless already?

big price tag

msrp on it is around 800 bucks according to traxxas

I like it

Wow, I'm glad I didn't order a Slash or a new E-maxx, 'cause this thing is really amazing. The only thing they could have done better is either give it a brushless setup or develop a high voltage 12t titan.

Street price

I saw it listed for 450 at horizon and some other places.

Nice one!

From the comment I read, everyone wished it had a BL setup. I say it should come without and ESC and motors. Most people want to create their own setup for their needs. I got a MMM ESC at home waiting for the truck. A Neu 1515 1y coming soon and will be powered by 2x 7s1p A123 pack. This is the max the ESC can handle ( asked a tech of Castle Creations ). This beast sell for 435$cad +tx at my local hobby shop near montreal since I'm a good customer. If anyone wants one, I can get 1 for you at this price +20$ for the trouble of getting it to you if your living in Montreal ;) Have fun with this nice truck! I still wish it came without motors, would be even cheaper!

E Revo

I purchased two of these from an Orlando hobby shop about an hour ago. They are for my son and I to take on vacation to Minnesota and Colorado. He was so adamant about wanting one of these that I could not pass up the chance to hit a "Home Run" with my kid who is 17. Hard to do that when they are this age. Unless I brought home a real Corvette or WRX. Anyway, I was worried that I had wasted 1200.00 for cars, chargers and batteries, but your comments make me think that the cars may be worth it. Thanks.
