The Reactor Bipe looks like an interesting stunt plane in a park flyer size. It features balsa and plywood construction and comes with a painted fiberglass cowl. The struts between the wings are large and don't use wires, which improves appearance and simplifies construction. Because the wings are permanently attached, there's no field setup involved. Two micro servos are needed for the left and right bottom ailerons, which are each attached to the top wing's ailerons by a pushrod.
This new plane has a number of subtle improvements over the monoplane Reactor:
- Cooling holes are molded into the cowl rather than needing to be cut
- Painted landing gear rather than plain aluminum
- Servos are installed with screws instead of glued in place
- Tail skid is one piece and has a washer glued in place as a wheel
I'm looking forward to seeing the Reactor Bipe in person at the WRAM Show in February. To learn more about the plane, check out the ElectriFly web site.
