I'm a fan of Team Losi, err... I mean just Losi, have been since the beginning. My first hobby grade RC truck was a Team Losi Junior-T. I can't help but feel a little saddened at the slow conversion of this great championship winning company to a toy maker. Don't get me wrong, they've released many quality products in the recent past, I love my Micro-Ts. It just seems to me that they've lost their focus on hardcore racing and are now targetting the backyard and kitchen floor more than the race track. But at the same time, you have a company like Traxxas that pretty much created a new racing class and is focusing more and more on creating world class trucks for that class. They've went from the hardcore racing market to backyard basher market and are now making their way back into the racing market. So maybe there is hope for Losi becoming Team Losi again. I don't know, I guess I kind of contradict myself with these feelings. I know that Losi still has some great purebred racers on the market. I guess it's just my perception.

Hi Jeff. I have noticed this too. I have been getting mad at Losi also. They seem to be pumping out vehicles in the last 6 months. Most of the new vehicle have been redone in a different scales or looks. Most of the other have been for backyard bashing says you said. I have heard a rumor about a lil' muggy (1/18th) to show up in the future but I have not seem to prove it. I think a mini racer would be kind of neat. I hope Losi make something that is new and unique.

Thanks,

Hi Jason If you read the specs is says

Revised Suspension with long-travel desert racing shocks

Redesigned Front and Rear Shock towers.

From this I am assuming that it has more travel than the xxxt.

Thanks,

Its a much bigger market. Im getting ready to buy 2 of these one for me and one for my 9 year old. I live in South Florida where its warm all year and there is no track or no organized racing. Which is probably for the best cause Id go broke. But if its backyard/livingroom bashing or just making it jump a house at least its getting more people into the hobby.

I completely agree about Losi sticking with the "hard core" racing program. They have world class products that are extremely competitive. As with any company for profit, they need to broaden their market to include everyone. I started out with a Tamiya Grasshopper, then bought my wife a used 2XT. I realized I needed to move up. I still race a 2X buggy and a 3XT, but am now building a Losi Desert Truck for backyard bashing. I am glad Losi is expanding their lineup!
