Everyone always has wanted a nice lid on their R/C car. Now it is possible with these great tips by Eclipse Customz.

The first step you should take to achieve a nice custom painted body is to thoroughly wash the body with dish soap and water. Dry with a lint free cloth to keep lint fibers from sticking on the lexan which could lead to paint adhesion problems later on.

Step two to creating a stunning custom painted body is to draw your design and use liquid mask or a high quality masking tape to cut out your design with. Always use a new X-acto blade when cutting out your design. It will lead to nice clean lines and prevent bleeding when painting. (I have always used X-acto #11 blades and they have always worked well for this application).

If you are using liquid mask, apply 3-5 thick coats and allow drying completely. I usually apply my liquid mask in the late evening and it is ready to be cut the next morning.

Paint darker colors first. You do not want to paint a light color first such as white and spray black next because it could show through and give you an unwanted color.

If you want a stunning body, the main thing is to take your time and practice. Most of the designs you are trying to achieve will not come the first time you are painting a body.
