DuraTrax Mini Quake 4WD RTR Truck

The DuraTrax Mini Quake is a 1/18th scale 4WD truck with Monster Truck styling. It should have good performance with it's 8 oil filled shocks and a simple, but effective chasis layout. DuraTrax also offers the 1 year Stress-Tech Guarantee on i's plastic components. This model is an excellent choice for someone just starting out in RC or even a seasoned RC racer looking for something to run around the yard for fun.

Custom Multi-color Body

DuraTrax has combined some nice features in this a value based 4WD Monster truck. You have a choice of 6 nicely detailed body colors, the chasis is already assembled and Ready-to-Run (RTR), a 2-channel Radio, electronic speed control, and even the 6-cell NiCad battery and wall charger. So, with this kit it isn't just RTR, but everything is included - just charge and go. At just under 10" long, the performance of the truck should be pretty good with the included 380 sized motor. Duratrax Kwik-Pit Universal Starter Box

In the beginning of on-road RC car racing, racers had to build their own starter boxes from wood and a simple motor. I remember having one that I covered with monokote film to protect the wood from the racing fuel and grease. The advantages of a home-made box was that it was sized perfect for your car and you could add a draw or other nice features. But, these boxes where very heavy and seemed to always need adjusting.

Today, the modern racer has the choice of several excellent starter boxes with Duratrax's Kwik-Pit Universal Starter Box being a great choice for the 1/8-scale or 1/10th scale on-road and off-road nitro racer. This box is build with a nice powder-coated steel box for durability and easy clean-up. The features of this box include powerful twin 540 motors, a durable belt drive for the starting wheel, and ball bearings on the starter wheel to handle the powerful torque. The timing of the start switch is adjustable without having to disassemble the box, this allows perfect set-up for placing the car on the box and getting the wheel starter right when it engages the starting wheel to the motor's flywheel. Comes mostly assembled with alligator clips and rubber pad for the steel box. The website shows how the box could be set-up with two stick battery packs or a single larger size 12V/7A field battery.

But, don’t let that description fool you, these are some nice chargers with excellent features for the price. With five different models to choose from, these chargers are sure to be a hit at your local RC raceway. Duratrax Onyx Chargers standard features include: AC/DC input, AC power supply built-in, peak detection for NiCd and NiMH packs, auto trickle feature, a wide range of currents, a higher charge current, solid-state overload and reverse polarity protection, audible indicators and a 5-year warranty.

The models available include the AC/DC Sport Peak Charger which is a great entry level chargers geared more to cars and boats. Duratrax Cliff Climber 1/14 Scale EP Rock Crawler

Rock crawling has slowly been gaining popularity in the radio control scene in the last couple of years. It really skyrocketed in 2007 and is still on the rise in 2008. Multiple companies have introduced and as well as started to produce Ready to Run crawlers, so it is no surprise that Duratrax has joined the ranks. Duratrax is now introducing its 1/14 scale Cliff Climber rock crawler to the scene.

This is a brand spanking new announcement, so theres hardly any information at all. But Duratrax has announced a new 1/14 scale crawler they like to call the Cliff Climber. The RTR will be around $240 and the ARR will be around $140. It has a motor for each axle, like a Clodbuster, has a Ford Bronco styled body, and by looking at the photo there is a servo mounted on the front axle. Could Duratrax be starting a new mini crawler craze?

Duratrax has been around for quite some time now, and they have released many buggies, truck's, and 1/10th scale's, but I think one of the best of all is their latest buggy, the Duratrax raze. The Raze is an entry level buggy, and for the price I believe it is probably one of the best.
